New Coffee Drop! Yusra Sumatra

washed Sumatra coffee

If you love a fruit-forward, spice-toned Sumatra this coffee is definitely for you! Introducing our new Yusra Sumatra. It’s jammy, creamy, and round with tasting notes of blackberry, purple grape, clematis, and nutmeg. We highly recommend for any and all lovers of a clean yet decadent Sumatra.

About. This coffee is a single farm lot from grower Yusra who grows coffee, banana, avocado, and lamtoro on his one hectare farm. It is extremely rare for Sumatran coffees to be sold as individual farmer lots and Yusra has become an exception to the norm. Microlot coffees like Yusra’s not only have more traceability but also achieve a higher level of quality that is rewarded with higher prices. This particular lot is washed as opposed to the common Sumatran processing method of wet hulling the coffee. This means that we get all the lovely fruit and spice notes that are common to Sumatra, while foregoing the overwhelming earth and mustiness that can be present in a wet hulled offering.

Unparalleled quality, a human story, and sustainability – that’s our coffee philosophy.

  • Unparalleled quality. We won’t buy a coffee unless we know that it will inspire you.
  • A human story. Often times a producer’s story gets lost in the coffee supply chain. It’s our focus to provide a seed to cup experience, honoring everyone involved.
  • Sustainability. We purchase sustainable coffees directly from producers and through brokers who share our goal of making coffee a sustainable commodity. Financially and environmentally, the coffees we purchase seek balance.
