Farm Level Info. Daniso Horsa is a coffee farmer hailing from the Damo area of Shantawene, Ethiopia. Located in a verdant valley in the shadows of the picturesque Bombe Mountain, Horsa’s farm features plush red clay soil where grows coffee above 2220 meters. An interesting tidbit about Horsa’s coffee is that in a country where coffee varieties are not often identified and singled out, we do know this lot contains a higher proportion of the Mikicho coffee variety. The Mikicho variety is an Ethiopian Heirloom variety known for larger, canoe-shaped coffee seeds; wavy, elongated leaves; and a striking resemblance to the coveted Geisha coffee variety.

We are focused on quality-driven, sustainable coffees.

Unparalleled quality, a human story, and sustainability – that’s our coffee philosophy.

  • Unparalleled quality. We won’t buy a coffee unless we know that it will inspire you.
  • A human story. Often times a producer’s story gets lost in the coffee supply chain. It’s our focus to provide a seed to cup experience, honoring everyone involved.
  • Sustainability. We purchase sustainable coffees directly from producers and through brokers who share our goal of making coffee a sustainable commodity. Financially and environmentally, the coffees we purchase seek balance.
