Our friends at Royal Coffee call this coffee an idyllic version of a Kenyan coffee and we have to agree. We highly recommend snagging a bag while supplies last!

Crown jewel coffees are distinctive, super-specialty green microlots that have been identified by the Royal cupping team as some of the best coffees on the planet.

About the Coffee. This is a low intervention coffee from Nyeri county, Kenya, produced by smallholder farmers organized under the Gatugi coffee factory and Othaya Cooperative Union. The Nyeri region of Kenya is known for growing some of the country’s best coffees. This particular lot was grown in mineral-rich volcanic soil on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. Kenya’s coffee is dominated by a cooperative system of production, whose members vote on representation, marketing and milling contracts for their coffee, as well as profit allocation. Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society, the umbrella organization that includes Gatugi Factory, is one of Kenya’s larger societies, with 19 different factories and more than 14,000 farmer members across the southern Nyeri region.
