Our Flor Blanca Geisha was grown by Aníbal Sánchez on his farm La Siria located in the famous coffee growing region of Huila, Colombia. You may say that coffee growing is in Aníbal’s blood as he inherited La Siria from his parents and continues to build upon and improve the quality of coffee on his farm. He intercrops his coffee with what is referred to in Colombia as Pancoger-crops grown for personal consumption and for the benefit of the surrounding community. Intercropping is also beneficial to the environment for a number of reasons including creating a more diverse habitat to support a wider range of flora/fauna, providing natural pest control, reducing soil erosion, improving soil structure, improving water retention, and more. With care, Aníbal has managed to produce exemplary coffee while prioritizing sustainability and the environment.
