About. This coffee is a single farmer lot grown by Niguse Gemeda Mude. Niguse won the first-ever Ethiopian Cup of Excellence in 2020 and he continues his focus on quality and sustainability today. Coffee is grown in fertile clay black soil and only ripe cherries are picked for processing. This particular lot is a natural process coffee which means the coffee is laid out to dry with the coffee cherry intact (rather than removing the cherry skin and mucilage before drying as is done in a washed process coffee). This creates a natural fermentation environment for the coffee as it dries that can produce very intense fruit and floral notes.
