New! Campazi #5 Burundi Natural

A new natural process coffee! Our Campazi #9 Burundi Natural is a is a tropical, berry bomb of a coffee with tasting notes of mixed berry, cantaloupe, tropical citrus, and sweet pea. It’s jammy, effervescent, and the perfect cup for lovers of berry-forward natural process coffees with a lovely pop of sweet tropical citrus.

This special microlot is 100% Red Bourbon, a coveted variety known for its well-balanced buttery sweetness and complex fruit notes. Couple this variety with natural processing on the farm level and the result is a lovely berry laden coffee that is at once classically natural but also distinctive of the unique coffee growing region in Burundi. It was grown by smallholder farmers in the Kayanza Province known for ideal coffee growing conditions and rich volcanic soil. Coffee growers contribute their ripe coffee cherry to the Umoco Washing Station. This particular lot was natural processed and sun-dried on raised beds for 25-30 days. It was then dry milled at the Horamama Dry Mill in Kayanza by the COCOCA Cooperative Consortium.

Unparalleled quality, a human story, and sustainability – that’s our coffee philosophy.

  • Unparalleled quality. We won’t buy a coffee unless we know that it will inspire you.
  • A human story. Often times a producer’s story gets lost in the coffee supply chain. It’s our focus to provide a seed to cup experience, honoring everyone involved.
  • Sustainability. We purchase sustainable coffees directly from producers and through brokers who share our goal of making coffee a sustainable commodity. Financially and environmentally, the coffees we purchase seek balance.
